Karachi: A series of deadly traffic accidents involving heavy vehicles claimed the lives of six people across different areas of Karachi within the past 24 hours, highlighting the growing danger posed by dumpers and speeding vehicles in the city.

Two Young Men Killed in Dumper Crash on Super Highway

Two young motorcyclists were crushed to death by a speeding dumper near the Punjab Bus Stand on Super Highway. Rescue officials identified the victims as 30-year-old Kamran and 20-year-old Amanullah.

According to police, both victims were employed at a local hotel located on Super Highway and were traveling on a motorcycle when the dumper ran over them. The dumper driver fled the scene immediately after the accident.

SHO Sachal Tufail Bhutto stated that the police have taken the dumper into custody and shifted it to the police station. Preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased were residents of Liaquatabad, while efforts are underway to arrest the absconding driver.

Motorcyclist Dies After Dumper Hit in Gulshan-e-Hadeed

In another incident, a fast-moving dumper hit a motorcyclist near Zaitoon Restaurant in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, leaving him critically injured. Chhipa volunteers rushed the victim to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The dumper driver managed to escape from the scene following the accident.

Bank Manager Killed in Hit-and-Run on Super Highway

Earlier on Monday morning, a motorcyclist was killed near Baqqai Bridge, close to Chishtia Hotel on Super Highway. The deceased was identified as 42-year-old Ramiz Akhtar Hussain, a resident of Gulshan-e-Maamar Sector 6 and a bank manager at a private bank near Malir Cantt.

SHO Gadap City Sarfaraz Jatoi stated that an unidentified vehicle initially hit the motorcycle, causing the rider to fall onto the road. Moments later, another speeding vehicle ran over Ramiz Akhtar, killing him on the spot. Both drivers fled the scene.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering information from eyewitnesses to trace the vehicles involved.

Elderly Woman Killed Near Korangi Vita Chowrangi

A 70-year-old woman was killed in a traffic accident near Vita Chowrangi, close to an Attock petrol pump in Korangi. The body was shifted to Jinnah Hospital, where she was identified as Ayesha, wife of Sarfaraz.

According to SHO Korangi Industrial Area Nasar Mahmood, the woman, who was reportedly addicted to drugs, was sleeping on the footpath when an unidentified speeding vehicle ran over her. The driver escaped, and police have launched a search to locate him.

Elderly Pedestrian Succumbs to Injuries on Super Highway

In a separate incident, an elderly pedestrian who was critically injured near Ahsanabad Petrol Pump on Super Highway died during treatment at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Chhipa officials stated that the victim was a passerby and could not be immediately identified. His age was estimated to be around 65 years, while police continue further investigation.
